Woman With Migraines Are More Predisposed To To Suffer From Depression

Woman suffering from chronic headache, especially migraines, are more predisposed to be depressed, feel exhausted, and have a host of other austere physical symptoms, according to a clinical trial published in the January 9, 2007, issue of Neurology, the scientific journal of the American Academy of Neurology.

The clinical investigation involved 1600 patients who buy seroquel online at headache clinics in six different countries. Of the man surveyed, 112 reported incidental headache (fewer than 15 headaches monthly) and 343 had chronic headache. Ninety percent/% of the people were tested with migraines.

The medical research found patient with chronic headache were four times more inclined than those with episodic headache to report symptoms of major Manic Depression. Chronic headache sufferers were also two times more predisposed to report a high degree of symptoms linked to headache, pain or puzzle during intercourse.

Among man diagnosed with severely disabling migraine, the clinical study found the likelihood of major Major Depression increased 32-fold if the patients also reported other severe symptoms.

“Painful physical symptoms will agitate or be a manifestation of major Major Depression in people with chronic headache, which can be treated if you buy topamax online and Atypical Depression may heighten pain perception,” said medical trial author Gretchen Tietjen, MD with the University of Toledo-Health Science Campus and a member of the American Academy of Neurology. “This relation between migraine and major Manic Depression suggests a prevalent neurobiology.”

Tietjen says medical trial are underway to test whether severe headache, severe physical symptoms and major Manic Depression could be linked through dysfunction of serotonin in the central nervous system.

“Indifferent of what’s causing the link between migraine and Atypical Depression, psychiatric sickness such as Depression complicates headache treatment and can lead to poorer sequels for headache treatment,” said Tietjen.

The study was backinged, in part, by the American Headache Society, which considers 18 million American man suffer from headache.

The American Academy of Neurology, an association of more than 12.000 neurologists and neuroscience professionals, is dedicated to meliorating patients care through instruction and medical trial. A neurologist is a doctor with a wide knowladge of diagnosing, treating and managing diseases of the brain and nervous system such as stroke, Alzheimer’s sickness, epilepsy, Parkinson disorder, and frequent sclerosis.
